HAT-trick

Hats, like  many other accessories, is a way of expressing yourself. A manner of telling people exactly who you are without saying a word.

Gone are the days when wearing hats were mainly to cover up bad  hair days. Hats have become very important accessories. Caps are no longer for the post man and big avant garde hats are no longer only for church ladies.

A hat tells the story of your personality. It's as important as the entire outfit and no longer just an after thought or a simple add on. Also, a hat is not limited to one season. It's one of those accessories that you can wear all year around.

So what is your poison?  A beret, wide-brimmed, a fedora or a baseball cap. Whatever you prefer, I am sure this post is bound to inspire you. When you wear a hat you exude the idea of confidence and mystery. It's cool, vibrant and ultimately refreshing.

How do you style your hat? Do you think hats are just as essential as the rest of the outfit? I would love to hear from you.

Review : Almay Intense I -Color Volumizing Mascara

I have been using Almay Intense I-Color Volumizing Mascara for a while now and I freaking adore it. Actually, I  will fight someone for this mascara. Lol, not really. This was a spur of the moment purchase because my regular mascara was out of stock and I was desperate.

Typically, I like thin brushes because they elongate my lashes. Every single one of them. So needles to say, I was not to keen on this thicker brush. They are usually too messy for my liking.

Let me tell you how wrong I was about this mascara. It makes my eyelashes look gigantic. Not only that, it is perfect for my sensitive eyes. During the summer months I somehow I have these itchy eyes and this mascara is perfect for that.

If I'm a hundred percent honest, I almost didn't buy this mascara because of the R185 price tag. As much as I love my make up, I like it better when it suites my budget. After contemplating a bit, I went ahead and bought the mascara and it was money well spent. Right now, this is my favourite mascara. It goes without saying that I'm going to stick to this one for now.

Have you used this mascara? I would love to hear from you.

The 2017 British Fashion Awards

Hey everyone!

It's been a little while since I have posted and I thoroughly believe that blogging breaks are necessary. So often I get so caught up in worrying whether people will actually read my blog that I forget why I started to blog in the first place. Not for everyone else but, because this is how I keep my sanity. Ok that's enough ranting for today.

I love doing fashion posts. Trend posts and especially award show red-carpets are my favourite to blog about. I decided to do a quick post on The 2017 British Fashion Awards because I found that it was actually a really interesting red carpet. Not all looks were winning looks but, there was FASHION. And risks...which is what I like to see. Here are some of the looks that stood out for me.

What did you think about the red carpet? Who won the night for you? I would love to hear from you!

Summer time fine

With summer in full swing over here in South Africa, I find my beauty regimen becoming less and less complicated. Along with the effortless feeling of summer, the balmy days call for products that work twice as hard. Essence must have somehow gotten the memo. I found three products recently that tick all the boxes for me. Let's dive in.

*Essence Fresh&Fit Awake Primer

Now, I have used other primers before but, nothing quite like this. It gives you this beautiful luminous look when you apply it. I love wearing it without my foundation on a day off. Even with my foundation, it's non greasy with a matte finish. This was certainly one of those purchases I made on a whim but, I'm definitely going to repurchase. It's an effortless way to look beautiful and healthy without putting too much effort in. This retails for R79,99 for a 30ml.

*Essence Metal Chrome Blush

If it's gorgeous, summer, lit-from-within glow you are looking for this is the product for you. It's like the normal blush but, with an instant cool factor. The fabulous cousin of blush if you will. Application is really easy and the formula is perfect for either a subtle shimmer or a megawatt glow. This retails for R64,95 and is another item I'm definitely going to repurchase.

*Essence Instant Matte Make-Up Setting Spray

You ever look at yourself halfway through the day and realize your face looks like you could fry an egg on it?This one was an absolute winner for me. The last thing anyone needs is foundation or concealer sliding down their cheeks in the middle of day. This make up setting spray contains "evermatt" and is lightweight and non sticky. I love that you can immediately see the difference after applying it. You can use it as a primer as well. This retails for R64,95 for 50ml. It's safe to say this is a summer essential for me.

That's it for today. What are some of your summer must haves? Have you used any of these products?  I'd love to hear your opinion on it.

Wedding fever

December is a popular time for people in South Africa to get married. It's summer here so the weather is ideal. It's also the time when most people are on holiday so nothing will deter your guests from sharing in the lovely day.

However, this post is not about the ideal weather conditions. While I'm not getting married anytime soon, I still find myself wondering what kind of wedding dress I would like.

Not everyone, including myself,  believes that white is the only colour that would work for a bride. The choice is entirely yours though. In this post, I explore some white and other, equally stunning, options.

What is your opinion on wedding dresses of a different colour?  Do you believe brides should only wear white or do you think its entirely up to the bride? I would love to hear from you.

Life begins at...Sobriety?

That seems to be the case for me. Let me start by saying, had it not been for a near death experience, I would certainly not be writing this...
