Life lately :Instagram Round Up

It has been quite some time since I have done one of these Instagram round up posts. Let's just say life hasn't been very Instagram-able this year. Between mourning the loss of the year I thought it would have been and every one else seemingly returning back to normal: I was uninspired. And that's putting it mildly.

I'm not sure what I was expecting for 2021 but, it sure as hell was not this. I have been living in this limbo between preparing for the future and wondering exactly what that future would look like. To top it all off, my special birthday month (May) turned out to be bittersweet. More bitter that sweet I might add. However, it wasn't all bad. I have also been feeling a great sense of rebirth. You know when they demolish a building to put up a completely new one. That's the feeling. So in the spirit of that feeling I have decided to post about the moments that did in fact make it to Instagram. These tiny glimpses really made me smile these past few months.

Lunch dates with my family will always make me happy.

An honest review on a product I adore. You can read it here

I love being a soccer mom and the kid is amazing at it. I'm ecstatic that he gets to play again.

I love impromptu beach dates and really like wearing this dress. It makes me feel sexy.

Going anywhere with this guy is fun and every now and then we remember to take a picture together.

The way to my heart :)

I have been hesitant to do this post for a while with everything going on in the media but, having recently decided to ALWAYS put my mental health first (thank you Naomi Osaka), I felt like I needed this. I needed to be reminded to purposefully look for the little bits of magic in every day. I've dealt with depression for as long as I can remember and I can say for sure expressing myself helps a lot. With that being said, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my world. Please drop your Instagram handles in the comment section below and tell me what you think about this post.

Life lately : Hello 2017

2016 has been an interesting year for me. It's been made up by some of the worst times as well as the most amazing times. That being said: I feel like the whole year has been a learning curve for me. From being cheated on (yes bohoo) to watching my beautiful boy graduating grade R and getting ready for grade 1. Yes, last year has been a cocktail of emotions.

However, it is a year that I shall be eternally grateful for. Regardless of the moments I spent riddled in self doubt, the year has taught me one valuable lesson: I can overcome anything. So with that in mind, I say bring on 2017!

I haven't made any solid resolutions other than being and even better mom. A mom that is constantly present (not just physically ). I look forward to the laughter and lessons this year has to offer. For me; the new year signifies hope. Hope that, even when things look utterly impossible, there's bound to be light at the end of the tunnel.

Welcome to my first post for 2017. A collection of my favourite moments so far. I hope you enjoy it; and that your year is off to a brilliant start.

Life lately : 25-08-2016

I happy to report that life lately has been nothing but pleasant. It has been stress and drama free (by choice). It has also been a time for travelling, learning new skills and meeting new people.

My family and I recently went on a mini road trip to Grahamstown and it was super relaxing. It felt amazing to be away from the hustle and bustle of work and to enjoy some downtime with the people I love the most.

Ofcourse, there were a few bumps in the road. I found out some rather disappointing (and unexpected ) news but, I see now that that was just God's way of preparing me for something much better. I'm planning a little giveaway on my blog soon and I'm very excited. Keep an eye on my pages for the details. That's  it for now. I hope you enjoy this post.

Xylon and I had the best time in Grahamstown!

Life lately : New perspective

It's been a while since I have done my last "life lately" post. Simply because lately life hasn't been the greatest for me. Fear not, this is not a pity party. While I have gone through some of the hardest times this past month, I have also learned some of the best lessons.

I've learned that you can't expect people to be good to you just because you are to them. Not everyone has the same heart. I've learned that no matter how awful life seems, its often not as major as we perceive it to be. That there are others going through way worse situations. When your heart is broken it's easy to forget the countless other things that make you happy. It's a case of tunnel vision and and you only see the pain.

That's why I decided to shift my focus. Just on a day to day basis there are so many things that make me feel good. My beautiful son, my amazing family, my friends and the fact that I have a job. The more I focus on these wonderful things the, less my heart responds to anything that isn't turning me into a better person.

So, perhaps selfishly so, this post is more for me than my readers. A sort of reminder that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. An ode to everything that makes me happy. At the end of the day: its not a perfect life but, it's a good life.

Fashion and getting to dress up puts me in a great mood.

Meaningful and funny quotes brighten up my day.

Details everywhere. I love blogs and instagram accounts that inspire me.
