TRENDING: Cut out boots

Every now and then a shoe comes along that I am completely fascinated with but, also completely terrified of. At the moment that shoe is the cut out bootie. For quite some time now it’s been on my radar and I have spotted it on celebrities, off duty models and fashion bloggers the world over. While I completely adore how it looks on everyone else; I am not exactly sure my thin legs would be able to do them justice. And yet I still desperately want to get my hands on a pair. From the street style snaps I have seen these boots seem super versatile. It can be worn with flirty frocks or you can go the rocker chic route with black skinnies and a leather jacket. Whatever you personality desires.

                                                          Wear them with leggings

                                                                   Or socks...

                                                              How gorgeous are they?

REVIEW: Tresemme` Heat Defence Styling Spray

Now this is what I call a little bottle of dynamite. I have been using Tresemme` Heat defence styling spray for over a year now and I am thoroughly impressed. After giving birth my hair took a turn for the worse and I was in need of every bit of extra care I could find. I started looking for products that would not only help me fix my hair, but that would also continue to protect my hair once it was repaired. Let’s talk a little about the product.

What it says on the bottle

For soft, shiny results spray evenly through damp hair. Use a brush to pull hair straight and blow dry from roots to ends. Helps prevent hair becoming brittle and dull. With continued use prevents up to 82% less breakage. Helps protect against damage from dryers and heat styling tools, smoothes frizz and seals in shine.

What do i think about the product?

As I have already mentioned, this product has been one of the saving graces of my hair. After the first few blow outs there was a visible difference to my hair. It was soft and shiny and so much more manageable. More often than not I have ended up being disappointed after a blow out but, a lot less in the last year. The formula is a lightweight spray that gives you the most amazing shine without the greasy feeling. More importantly, it smells incredible. I can’t remember how much I paid for it but, knowing me, it probably wasn’t too expensive. The product certainly lived up to everything that was promised on the label. Overall, I was beyond impressed and I would recommend it to everyone reading.

What heat styling products do you prefer using? Have you used this one? I would love to hear from you .Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I LOVE LACE

Lace always makes me think of my grandma and, while that's not a bad thing, its 2016 and no one wants to be thought of as granny-ish.

When you think of lace, what comes to mind? Someone who is demure and soft? Well not anymore. The new season sees lace get a tough rock star make-over. With fashionistas all over the globe indulging in the trend it’s easy to find lace inspiration and put together an ensemble that fits both your body and your mood.

While I could never bring myself to wear white lace, I am more than excited to give darker colours (in small dosages) a go. Think bad-ass-grunge-glamour. What do you think? Are you already rocking this trend?

Autumn/Winter inspiration

I have heard a multitude of people complain about not knowing how to be stylish in colder weather. While I prefer  the colder seasons, I love the idea of hot chocolate and cuddling up with loved ones  and new books, I too find it difficult putting outfits together that are both cosy and chic. Half way through the season I usually feel like I am stuck in the monotonous routine. Do you go through the same thing? Fear not. I have compiled some autumn/winter looks to give you (and me) bucket loads of inspiration.  I’m certainly going to try some of these.

Review: LANCOME Hypnose Drama mascara

Ever since I bought my first tube of cheap (very cheap) mascara in the 8th grade, I knew that I would have a lasting relationship with mascara. When I wore it, people noticed my eyes. They complimented me on the fact that they seemed extra striking, instead of making fun of how enormous they looked on my tiny face. I have always loved trying mascara’s from different brands, in different shapes and even different colours. It is very much an adventure for me. I recently started using Lancôme Hypnose Drama in Extra Black and these are my thoughts.

The packaging is simply stunning. The box and tube are both decorated with the cutest doodles by Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz. At first I really did not want to open or use it simple because it looks so amazing. The first application was somewhat of a messy situation however. There was just way too much product on the wand but, after depositing most of the product back in the tube, I tried again.

Let me tell you, there is definitely no lack of drama when the mascara is applied. The curved brush took me a while to get used to and I am not quite sure how I feel about the formula. Once I got the application correct my lashes were certainly huge and the product smelled incredible. The only thing I would change about this mascara is the fact that the brush scoops up such large dollops of product. Overall I feel I could definitely grow to like this product. It usually takes me quite a while to warm to mascara’s so who knows I still might become besties with this one.

REVIEW: Cinderella's Secret bath oil and body butter

A while ago I won an amazing Cinderella’s Secret hamper on Channi Chic blog and due to some delays at post office the package got to me quite some time after I actually won the giveaway. Nevertheless, it was absolutely worth the wait. There are some other goodies in the hamper too, but I thought I’d review these two products first.

The Bath oil

I was a little anxious about using bath oil simply because I am not the most graceful of people and I was almost sure I would slip in the bath and lose all my front teeth in the process. Eventually, a few days ago I decided to YOLO it and add a little to my bath .I was amazed by how only one cap made such a huge impact on my skin. Even after I got out of the bath my skin felt soft and supple. There was no greasy residue and that was something I really appreciated. If you are short on time, adding a few drops of bath oil to your bath means you can skip the moisturising afterwards. That’s how awesome it is. Overall I was super impressed and I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

The Body butter

The only way I can describe this body butter is “dreamy creamy”. It is so rich and decadent and feels marvellous on the skin. My feet, knees and elbows really take a beating when the colder days arrive and this body butter is ideal for that.

Both of these products smell so lovely. I am having a blast using them. I really look forward to using more amazing products from Cinderella’s Secret. More reviews coming soon.

Are you using any of their products? If so, I would love to know what you think. Thank you for taking the time to reading my blog. Please do me a huge favour and follow my blog. Also connect with me on twitter @CkoBlog or like my facebook page CKO cool kids only- blog.
